Process Engineer at Sonoco

ABOUT THE POSITION

Sonoco manufactures spiral-wound paper tubes and is today one of the world's leading global suppliers in the packaging industry. We are now looking for a process engineer for Sonoco's factories in Norrköping and Matfors. In your role, you will be responsible for improvement projects related to productivity, quality, and goal fulfillment. As a process engineer, you will, in collaboration with other functions, drive quality and improvement projects related to production. You will primarily work from the Norrköping factory but will have a coordinating responsibility for process development and improvement work for both factories. The position includes travel mainly within Sweden, averaging 30-50 travel days per year.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for process development in close collaboration with production and drive continuous improvement work. You will be part of the daily work and work on temporary projects.

  • Ensure that safe and ergonomic working methods are followed
  • Map the company's equipment efficiency
  • Standardize equipment and work processes
  • Implement and monitor KPIs to continuously develop the business
  • Further develop the company's manufacturing methods
  • Be involved in producing written material such as operation and maintenance manuals
  • Coordinate and be responsible for the implementation of lean
  • Project manage small and large changes in production

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO

  • Has at least a bachelor's degree with a technical focus, for example in mechanical engineering, electronics, automation, production technology, or equivalent
  • Has a background in process development, project management, and/or improvement work within the manufacturing industry
  • Has good computer and system skills
  • Has very good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing

We also consider it a merit if you have:

  • Experience working with LEAN in a manufacturing industry
